Vitamin I - interesting article

As a First Endurance athlete I receive their weekly newsletter. This week's topic interested me as whether to use ibuprofen or not is a question that comes up quite frequently from endurance athletes. This article is pretty scientific in its explanation, but gets the point across. At the very least read the recommendations at the bottom of the letter.

A very eye opening article. I saw this a couple days ago when Scott Dunlap posted it on his blog. I think it's something we all need to read and know!

By the way - I started running last night with a whopping 3.25 miles...

Before moving up to ultra distances I was a frequent user of Ibuprophin. Now it often has me concerned, given the risks of hyponatremia. I rarely take it anymore. But that being said, I had an ankle injury that flared up around mile 35 of last hear's AR50 and I popped two advil and the pain quickly went away. I'm sure I would have walked most of the last 10 miles without it. So it's still controversial for me. I try not to use it, but I still want the option there.
Thanks for the article link, staying informed on the risks is the best way to make good decisions.
