Hi-Tec Race Info
Race Format
Hi-Tec adventure races are teamwork
challenges that combine kayaking, mountain biking and trail running with mystery
"special tests." The three member teams must complete each section of the
course, and cross the finish line, together; a format which challenges members
to work together and stay together.
The exact order and distance of the events is not revealed until the day
before the race, and the special tests are kept a mystery until the day of the
event. Both seasoned competitors and first-time adventure racers compete
alongside each other with equal opportunities to win.
The courses of each race are truly unique and suited to the specific terrain
of the area. Each race will include a 10-15 mile mountain bike course, a 5-8
mile trail run and a 1-2 mile, flat-water, kayak course. Teams will finish in
3-6 hours.
Race Support
All teams are self-sufficient during every Hi-Tec
Adventure Race. Teams must provide all gear (except kayaks), fluid and fuel
replacement needed during the race, and are not allowed any outside assistance.
Teams may leave all support equipment in the transition area and will be able to
return during the race.
