On May 26, 2001, some of world's most experienced teams will be returning to Ireland to try and claim the title from last year's winners Team Parrot.

Ireland's Lake District will play host to Europe's premier adventure race the Adrenalin Rush. This year the race will be based in the town of Enniskillen in Northern Ireland, which lies in the center of the country's top tourist location, County Fermanagh. The race will travel into Southern Ireland taking the competitors across the most breathtaking and mythical landscape in Europe passing ancient burial sites and megalithic tombs, landing on island refuges where medieval monks sheltered from Viking raids, and experiencing the awesome tranquil beauty of the countryside of Ireland.

This year's course will be unlike anything experienced before, the teams can expect to move fast between the disciplines using the unique Tulip navigation system. Brand new double touring kayaks will replace the Canadian canoes used in last year's race. Once again, competitors and volunteers will experience the incredible hospitality of the Irish people as they are welcomed to our country. Last year's competitors were amazed by the friendly reception they received from all.

Adrenalin Rush has quite rightly earned the reputation as the toughest race in Europe — not by the organizers, but by the competitors themselves and the media who attended the inaugural race last year. The 2001 event will be no different. No where else in the world can you experience a 300-mile, multi-disciplined race for only £800 ($1,160). Our sponsors have invested large sums of money to help create "the adventure racer's race" to put it right up there with the best races in the world.

There are still a small number of race slots available, but teams wishing to register for a place will have to be quick. We have held back a few places for international teams wishing to race, but these will have to released very soon as the interest from local (European) teams is intense.
